Enough to finish a spread?

Here are 60-some new(ish -- I've been at it a while) hexes, maybe enough to finish the spread I showed a while back.

Some new hexes

I earlier showed a "complete" hex throw of some sort and mentioned that it could be extended in various ways.  Herewith a bunch of new hexes to be used to extend it somehow (or not)

As you may see, there are several twists in this.  Does anyone know how to prevent tis?

Circle in the square hexed

I saw an interesting pattern of circle in the square as a pane in a bag:

so I decided to remake it to fit my preferred figure, hexes.  I started by decreasing the eight petals to six:

which was OK, but I thought a bit denser would look better, so I increased the petals to nine:

Very satisfying.

Slug sling

I like to keep my coffee handy all day  but, when I set it down, a forget it until I want another slug, by which time I am several rooms or floors away from it.  So I crocheted this little device (no pattern, just keep going til it came out right):

Hex afghan

This is technically done at 45" x 62".

It needs blocking, of course.  But it could also easily be expanded, either by adding new rows along any edge or by extending all the rows in one direction or the other,  Or by taking a new row as axis and building toward a rectangle in a whole new way

In any case, it could be finished off by adding half blocks to square up the edges (not that leaving the scallops and points isn't a nice look, too).

For now, I think I'll let it rest for a while while I turn to other projects, say for Holy Yarns.

First Prayer Shawl Project

This is my first shawl for my church's prayer shawl project.  It is a simple piece:
Chain to width + 1, turn and sc in each chain, chain 3, turn dc in each stitch.  Then two more rows of dc.  Repeat one row sc, three of dc to length, finishing with an sc row.

Lacy Shawl

A simple (in principle) pattern: Chain a multiple of five plus one to desired length (or width). SC in next loop (chain 2, dc in second loop, ch 3 sc in second loop) to end,  Ch 3 (counting as a dc), chain 2, sc in first dc, ch 2 dc in first sc) to end (end on a dc) . chain 1, (sc in dc, chain 3,  dc in sc,) to end (ending with sc).  Repeat the two rows  to the length or with desired,  Bind off.

   

In practice, things get a little confused at some places so it looks more random than the orderly instructions suggest.  Still, it is light and airy for a summer wrap.
